Our Top 10 Favorite Interiors/Exteriors Tumblr Accounts!

The weekend should not be ending so soon. Actually, this weekend was a pretty productive one overall. We got to see family for a quick second, we helped my nephew Jayden with his 100 item project, I finished painting two doors in our hallway, and I caught up on all my e-design projects. We had to collect 100 items of any kind and glue them a sheet of project paper. We went with a canvas and had a painting session which J loved! He said he wanted to paint more in the future. I love how creative he can be! My mom took me to At Home since I wanted to get some wicker basket storage for our bathroom reno. By the way, I can't wait to show you our bathroom renovation. The next things on my list is to paint the cabinets, add hardware, get lighting, buy the sink, and add the new counter top. That's actually a lot of things to do as I type this...anyways, I can't wait to show you the before and afters. That brings me to the point of this post...INTERIOR/EXTERIOR INSPO TUMBLR ACCOUNTS that we can't get enough of - Tumblr is the best source for inspiration for interior design overall, in my opinion. I seriously don't know how these people do it. I can be on Tumblr all day just wishing and hoping my place could look as good as the photo they post.

So today we are sharing our top 10 Tumblr accounts we can't get our eyes off of - you will thank us later :)

1. The Cozy Space

Minimalism, anyone? I have been loving anything Scandinavian and this page has been getting it lately! I'm a huge fan of all white so I can look at pretty photos with all white interiors all day. They also have all dark wall eye catching photos, which is pretty to look at for a long time.

This account has everything from modern to traditional. The one thing I absolutely love about this account is the amount of wood paneling design they have. I love a pop of wood texture anywhere.

I love how this account puts emphasis on creative and modern stairways. Go check it out for yourself. I just can't enough of unexpected wooden beams in this living space. Beautiful colors going on too. Ughh.

Almost in each photo of theirs, you see a touch of brass somewhere. I'm obsessed with brass accessories. :)

5. Volk13

A tiny and modular home blog - OKAY! Everyone knows how much Aurelio and I love tiny home living. This one is a must see for anything inspo tiny homes. The life of living tiny just amazes us.

An here is another of our favorites! Prefab! loving everything. If this doesn't make you want to get a tiny home then I don't know what will :) JK. It's okay, tiny living is not for everyone. We can also sit for hours and look at the beautiful lands most of these homes sit on.

This one is a little different but so pretty to look at when you want to get inspired by nature and architecture.

Decorlove is my go to for loft design inspo. Lofts are also one of my favorite spaces to look at. I would never live in one but the thought of it is nice. You could divide space into many different spaces which is great.

So when I feel edgy and inspired by classic design, Vintage Luxe is my favorite. Something about vintage...we always need something vintage in any space, in my opinion.

Last but not least - if you want an all around, any interiors tumblr account - you can come check out mine! :) I love Tumblr and I hope you find our list helpful.

Please share any other tumblr accounts you love with us.

We hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!

Our Top 5 Must Haves for your Kitchen

I treated my mom and my nephew, Jayden to a quick visit to the Dallas World Aquarium yesterday. It was pretty neat. I haven't been in forever, probably since I was 10 years old...that was ALONG TIME AGO! I'm about to be 28 so you do the math. The first thing I asked when I bought the tickets was "do you guys have any big cats?" (I AM TERRIFIED OF BIG CATS) The lady at the counter responded, "yes, we do - but people miss him since he's in the upper level of the building." WHAT! After the go-around, Jayden was the big guy and wanted to go upstairs. WHAT?! no thank you. Luckily, he forgot about heading up to see Mr. Jaguar. :)

Since we also celebrated my dad's 70th birthday, I baked two cakes that were delicious! One strawberry and one butter pecan. One day I will have my perfect and small dream kitchen so I can cook away for my friends and family. My parent's kitchen will just have to do it for now.

Today we wanted to share the top 5 must haves in the kitchen and the list could go on and on so imagine how hard it was for me to just keep it at five items. I can't wait to share more of our top favorite list with you all. Enjoy!

I love anything that is marbled out. Marble will never go out of style, in my opinion. It goes with anything.

This mixer is, so far, my favorite accessory in our kitchen. I use it at least 3x a month. By the way, Aurelio and I have started a NO SUGAR / NO FAST FOOD challenge for 2 weeks. So this kitchen accessory will be sitting pretty on the counter for a while. Other than this, it's the perfect gift for anyone who loves baking or cooking in general.

I love this style of hardware and I just wish we did these in my mom's kitchen when we were looking for hardware. If you're looking for a small change that will impact your kitchen design, hardware is always the best way to go.

I'm so glad Aurelio got me copper mugs about a month ago. You can't go wrong with owning a pair of these in your kitchen. You would definitely want to display them on your counter since they are super pretty. Drinks? anyone?

As many of you know, I love baking! I finally got one of these not too long ago. I have a glass stand but nothing beats with having a white cake stand to display your gorgeous 'to pretty to eat' cakes. I'm also thinking of joining a baking class to learn more but not now since, you know, our challenge (this is already going to be hard but we can do it.)

Do you have any favorite kitchen essentials you can't live without? Let me know!

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

A beautiful hike + the perfect Timbuk2 backpack

It's been three weeks since we came back from our CO trip and we miss it so much already. On one of our days, we headed up to Cheyenne Mountain State Park. We hiked for about 30 min until the snow was way too slippery to stand. It's pretty crazy hiking up snow since you never know what could be underneath. For example, when Aurelio decided to walk across a creek, not knowing there was even a creek underneath the snow. It was pretty hilarious actually. All we heard was cracking in the ice/snow and there goes my husband trying to survive. All this with my camera around his neck and his new messenger bag from Timbuk2. I love him for being such a good sport and climbing up a steep hill on the other side of the creek onto the road. I bet people thought he was one crazy bearded man. He sure did learn his lesson about hiking in snow. Overall, Cheyenne Mountain State Park was beautiful. I was hoping we would see some bears but no luck, just a couple deers.

For Christmas, I gave Aurelio a Timbuk2 messenger bag. The backpack he needed (wanted) was at the very top of his list so I wanted to surprise him before we headed to CO with his bag. Aurelio is a biker too so this backpack will definitely help him when he rides to work. He decided on the Spire 15-inch Macbook Laptop Backpack. When I opened the bag to wrap it up, I couldn't believe the quality of bags Timbuk2 made. They are all handmade in San Francisco. You can see their video here. We are all lovers of handmade products within the US so I has so happy when he opened up his gift and saw the first thing I got him. In fact, we loved Timbuk2 bags so much, we got another one for his sister and she loved it. The Spire backpack has loads of storage for everyday necessities for the avid biker and perfect for a 15-inch laptop. It has extra support that can be tied around your stomach for more support. This came in handy for Aurelio when he was hiking which was awesome!

Do you guys have any favorite travel bags? Let us know about them!

A Tiny Home Made for Us

I guess you can say that Aurelio and I have been wanting a tiny home for about a six months now. i was the one who initially fell in love with them and the overall lifestyle of living tiny. Aurelio was the one who needed convincing when I first talked to him about a tiny home. I was always so scared of people talking us out of it. To be honest, some people already have good points on why we shouldn't own one which made me want to get one even more. I know, I know - you've seen those episodes on TV all about tiny home living. When people say this to me, I wait until they begin telling me things about how THEY couldn't even start to think about living in one. That's just the point - they couldn't but WE can. I remember watching one of the tiny home episodes when Aurelio sat next to me then saw all the potential and financial freedom we could get from living tiny. HE WAS FINALLY ON THE SAME PAGE AS I WAS, which made me super excited and happy! This could be an investment for us which was one of the main points for us.

For New Years, we decided to take a trip up to CO. I really wanted to go skiing this time around (we have been to CO so many times now) but I got sick the first few days there. It was nice to stay in the hotel though. When Aurelio searched up tiny home builders, Tumbleweeds Tiny Homes came up so that was our main point in going to Colorado Springs this time. We were hopeful we could get all the information we could about living tiny. Well, WE SURE DID! We even got to walk into some tiny homes they were building at that point. Tumbleweeds Tiny Homes designate times specifically for tours so we were so excited to see everything they had to offer AND can I just say, all of their tiny homes are RVIA certified which makes them RV certified if they build them for you.

After the tour was done, the sweet tour lady asked if anybody was ready to speak to a sales person. Lucky for us, we actually booked a meeting two weeks in advance with one of their sales people. His name was Ray and we had such a wonderful time talking about everything from our own questions and concerns to our finances. Overall everyone there helped us out ALOT. When the meeting was over, we knew exactly what we needed to do now. WE WANT TO GO TINY AND WE DON'T CARE WHAT ANYBODY SAYS.

As you may know, we absolutely love Colorado. We would like to travel to more states with more nature-esque sights but we would also like to bring a tiny home along if we could. At first we were thinking about an RV but at the end of the day, we loved what a tiny home could do for us. You see, we couldn't really rent out an RV if we wanted to. We could sell it, of coarse, but we wouldn't have anything anymore to travel. Aside from all this, we want to buy a small piece of land in CO and place our tiny home there. Anytime other people want that tiny home experience for 2-3 days, we could have our tiny home on our land ready for use. This is actually where we are at now. There's a process for everything apparently LOL. We know what we need/want. Many communities haven't gone tiny just YET but having a Tumbleweeds tiny home makes it easier since they are RV certified. We are patiently waiting to hear back from one potential property that we are eyeing but if it doesn't work out then, on to the next one, right? We just need to make sure we have the land first before anything. This also gives us time to bring in a larger deposit.

Overall Aurelio and I are super excited for this year. I know there will be setbacks but it's going to be so worth it. Here are some photos from our tour. Just look at Aurelio's face in the photos. He looks so happy LOL. This is something I never thought would happen. By the way, if you visit Tumbleweed's page, we are looking at the Roanoke tiny home. It's a beauty in real life.

Yay for tiny home photos! They were actually so much bigger in person. Anyway, thank you for all the support. We love you all! If you guys are not following me on IG >> follow me here! >>>

I am posting all of our travel photos from this trip.

2017 > 2016

As 2016 comes to an end, I am ready to give you guys more blog posts. I know I haven't been great at posting to my blog but I would seriously love to post more in 2017 and that's exactly what I'm planning on doing. I just want to write more and let you all know all my feelings. I've been super inspired to get things going with this blog. So here are my goals for this year:

Pray more
Post once a week for you guys
Lose 15 lbs LOL
Yoga way more than I did in 2016
Head out to more blogger events
Put down a deposit on a TINY HOME! (blog post coming next week)
Eat way more veggies, preferably spinach!
Brunch more with my love

Those are my main goals for this new year and I'm pretty excited. Can I also let you guys know that my love and I are currently in Colorado. We spent the New Years cuddled in bed and watching back to back episodes of Superstore on Hulu. I know! but it was the most amazing New Years we have had ever. No loud people around us, no drinking (maybe one mimosa for brunch but that's about it), no firecrackers. Just us. We actually laid in bed and talked about our goals for the New Year. Aurelio gets me so inspired. I love how he's so inspired to get things done for us and himself.

I can't wait to share more photos from this trip. We actually had a purpose to come out this time but I will let you know all about it on next weeks post.

Us right after Aurelio stepped over a snowy path over a creek and almost lost his life. (NOT REALLY) As we both heard cracking in the path, he nearly fell into a creek of 6" water. He is fine but it was pretty terrifying knowing that there was an actual creek running underneath all that snow and ice. He is such a risk taker sometimes lol!

Love you all & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
