Weekly Design Board Spotlight

I've been feeling pretty great lately. Besides my anxiety peaking a little, I've been reading DARE by Barry McDonagh and it has helped me so much with how I feel and the crazy thoughts that past by me sometimes. My plans for 2018 is to be more open about my anxiety. I have come to realize that I am so much more than my anxiety by reading DARE. I have to thank one of my best friends that recommended me this book. A review is in the works for the blog because more people need to read this!

I am so ready to be in the mountains. Last year we purchased a beautiful piece of land in Colorado. Although, we don't plan on building any time soon, I was able to pull up some live city cams where our land is near (thank you, internet!) and we saw lots of snow on the ground. So - to my IG followers...be prepared to see some neat photos!

This upcoming week will be a busy one! Aurelio and I will be heading to CO and we are so excited! I've been trying to finish up some last minute emails and some fun e-design projects in the works. What I love most about my job is that I get to design for people all over the US. I do have my local clients but designing with our technology now a days is awesome! When clients start to receive their items, it gets them and myself so excited! Especially when they send me photos and it's exactly how I pictured it to be. I love that feeling!

Here is this weeks design board spotlight :)

I love this board so much! I love all the neutrals and textures we brought in this space. Our client is happy so we are happy too. We started off with a blank slate so that's always fun to get a fresh new start. I brought in this grey simple upholstered bed. I love the base on it. The legs are super sleek with a mid century feel to them. I also added two of these West Elm MC nightstands. Notice how the finish is totally different from the bed but the whole room still ties in all together - thanks to our client's flooring! The rug is actually a Pottery Barn Kids. This room is on the small size so we were able to bring in a smaller rug. I love all these pillows. We have two solids then two cool pattern pillws with a beautiful plaid lumbar pillow. Never be afraid of bringing in pattern on pattern. A floor mirror was a must for our client and he loved this CB2 one that we found in a natural acacia finish. Overall - it came out pretty great! Let me know your thoughts on it :)

Weekly Design Board Spotlight

Happy Friday! So it has been two weeks since I started working from home and I love every bit of it! I get to engage more with my design clients now and I know they are happy for that too. :) Overall - it's been amazing and I'm so excited where all this will lead. As design projects come to me, I love to highlight some of my favorite design boards that I create for clients. I will be doing design board spotlights every week on the blog now and I hope you will all enjoy reading and seeing every design!

This isn't the only thing interior designers create. We also go behind the scenes dealing with construction documents, AutoCAD files, and back and forth emails to clients/contractors to make sure our final design approach is achieved - but I mean, c'mon, who wants to see all this craziness happen on the blog? LOL.

Now for the fun part of interiors!

For this particular client, we had to work around her existing West Elm sofa. I love her sofa already so it was super fun bringing in more texture in the pillows then pulling in these cognac leather WE lounge chairs. She does have a fireplace in the middle of her living room with nothing on each end. So we decided to pull in these beautiful chest for more storage. You can never go wrong with a round mirror above a chest of drawers. Who else is not over textured plaid just yet? I pulled these pillows to tie in all the warm tones throughout her space. I also pulled in a round coffee table that is a slight lighter wood tone then the chests. In my opinion, you never really want to be too "matchy, matchy".

We also wanted this living room to feel much more comfortable since she has tile flooring. I know a lot of clients that don't like their existing tile flooring but you can always bring in a large beautiful rug that's contrasting to the tile as well. For this project, I selected this beautiful diamond, almost shag, rug. Flooring can be huge expense so I always advise clients that this is a perfect way to go if they are not shopping for new flooring.

Overall, the client loved it and I can't wait to see the final results.

HAPPY NEW YEAR - FINALLY! I am so glad to be back in the office and blogging for you guys! I wanted to start off with a fun post to show you my favorite sectionals that I have loved for a while now. I suggest these sectionals all the time for my clients too. I'm not one for a colorful sectional since I love keeping main furniture pieces a neutral palette. From beautiful white sectionals to even dark gray sectionals, you can never go wrong with a neutral color. Especially when you can change throw pillows around based on each season. I've also rounded up some fun Lulu & Georgia pillows in the mix just so you can see what kind of pillows could go on some of these sectionals. My advice would be not to limit yourself with cool throw pillows. If you like a pop of color - I say,  GO FOR IT! you can also add in some textured tone on tone pillows but definitely do not be afraid of some color. Hope you all love my list! Links are below :)

On another note - this week we are getting ready to shoot my parent's master bedroom. I will be looking for some bed pillows today since it's the only thing we need to finish it up. I think we did pretty good with this space and I can't wait to show you all! Have a great Tuesday!
